Guitar Shorty strikes with Bare Knuckles!
Legendary guitarist/vocalist Guitar Shorty is a giant in the blues world. Like a bare knuckled boxer, Shorty strikes with his blistering, physical guitar playing and his fierce vocals, connecting directly with body and soul. What really sets Shorty apart is his absolutely unpredictable, off-the-wall guitar playing. He reaches for sounds, riffs and licks that other blues players wouldn't even think of. With his new CD, Bare Knuckle, Guitar Shorty has created an album that is as memorable for its defiant vocals and contemporary, socially conscious lyrics as it is for his trademark menacing, slashing guitar work and hard-rocking spirit.

Rick Estrin & The Nightcats appear on House of Blues Radio Hour
Rick Estrin & The Nightcats, currently celebrating the release of their debut CD, Twisted, will appear as featured guests on the nationally syndicated House Of Blues Radio Hour. The show will air the weekend of October 23 – 24. For a full list of broadcast times and stations, go to www.thebluesmobile.com/briefcase/affiliate.shtml.
Since the CD's June 2 release, Twisted has received glowing reviews from Billboard, The Chicago Sun-Times, The Philadelphia Inquirer, Blues Revue, Living Blues and many more national and regional publications. For more than 30 years and nine albums, Rick fronted the jumping, swinging Little Charlie & The Nightcats, featuring guitarist Little Charlie Baty. With Baty's recent retirement from touring, Estrin — along with the Nightcats' longtime rhythm section of J. Hansen and Lorenzo Farrell and a new member, fiery guitarist Kid Andersen — takes the lead on his own.

The accolades keep coming for John Nemeth! Don’t miss this Cat!
Nemeth, who has been receiving critical acclaim nationally, reinvigorates the sound of vintage American R&B with his spine-tingling vocals and considerable songwriting skills. In his latest Blind Pig release Love Me Tonight, John has crafted a timeless slice of American music. As the Pasadena Weekly testifies in this week's cover feature: "What pours out of his mouth is anything but expected: earthy, gut-bustingly robust vocals clearly influenced by old-school soul masters like Sam Cooke, Junior Parker and Otis Redding, but with a style recognizably his own."
Tom Mazzolini, San Francisco Blues Festival promoter, says, "John Nemeth is an incredible talent. He just capitivates an audience. It's very, very impressive...boy, can he sing!"
