Reviews

"Sayers can hold his own with the likes of Chris Duarte, Ian Moore or Kenny Wayne Shepherd. It won't be long before on thousand people are showing up for his show."

- The Wichita Eagle

"Swinging' From The Fabulous Satellite is a blustery, exuberant offering from Houston's most generous live act, refreshingly free of the slightest post-perfomance doctoring (as if the veraran Sayers Trio needed sudio overdubs.)"

- The Houston Press

"Sayers may be Houston's best all-around rock guitarist."

- The Austin Chronicle

"Haven't heard of Hadden Sayers? Haven't been to Houston lately, have you? The flattery (from the press) doesn't quite explain Sayers' scorching guitar and bluesy, rockin' take no-prisoners songwriting touch. Here's a Texas secret the Midwest needs to discover to avoid the "wimp" moniker. Wear log sleeves, this band burns!"

Biography

12 Bars and the Naked Truth: A bold manifesto of Modern Southern Rock with gloriously soulful vocals and a guitar sound as big as the Houston Suburbs...by Hadden Sayers.

Hadden Sayers was born in Nacogdoches, TX and was raised throughout the state. He began playing guitar as a teenager and was immersed in live music while a student at Texas A&M University in College Station, TX.

Studying took a back seat to all-night jam sessions and performances by Blues and Texas Music legends Gatemouth Brown, Joe Ely, Omar and the Howlers, Eric Johnson and other musicians of different genres. In fact, Sayers once spent an afternoon driving Punk legends “The Ramones” around in his car in search of a proper plate of barbeque!

After earning a degree in Journalism Sayers moved to Austin, TX where he began his "blues internship" with legendary BB King rhythm section “Silent Partners”. Shortly thereafter he joined Bluesman Lucky Peterson’s touring band and spent time learning the finer points of keeping a juke joint band on the road.

After his stint with Lucky Peterson, Sayers returned to Houston, TX to concentrate on writing songs. It was there he began a 3 year association with the successful regional sensation Miss Molly and the Whips making his recording and songwriting debut on her first 2 releases: Miss Molly (EFM 1992) and In the Garden (EFM 1993).

Sayers began work on his own album in late 1993 and the Hadden Sayers Band was born.

Today the Hadden Sayers Band is based in Columbus, Ohio and performs more than 150 dates per year worldwide.

The band has released 5 full-length CDs Hadden Sayers Band (RR 1995), RetroFutura (RR 1996), Swingin’ from the Fabulous Satellite (RR 1998), SuperSonic (RR 2001) and 12 Bars and the Naked Truth (RR 2004).

Hadden Sayers has also produced and performed on national commercials for clients including General Motors and the NFL.

The Hadden Sayers Band has performed throughout the US and Canada as well as Germany, Denmark, Holland, France, Spain and Russia.

The Hadden Sayers Band has shared the bill with countless legendary musical acts from The Neville Brothers to Lynyrd Skynyrd to Velvet Revolver.

When not performing Sayers spends time with his wife Dawn, (a genetic researcher and college professor!) and enjoys snow skiing, motorcycles, classic cars and Tex Mex food!
